Enabling PDFs for Smart Presenters using Adobe InDesign
This is a quick guide on modifying your PDF presenters/catalogues/lookbooks/blads etc. to enable them for the Smart presentation mode. This mode enables the iPad user to simple tap on the zone you specify and they can order the products directly from the PDF.
Creating your campaigns this way is very efficient as it means there is almost zero admin time in creating the campaign in Inzant Sales, you simply create a campaign with the type "Smart Presentation" and upload the PDF - no product linking required.
- Open your Indesign document or create a new document as you normally would.
- Add visual and text items as normal until the document is visually as you would like.
- Set InDesign to display "Interactive for PDF" so Buttons and Forms become visible
- To add a button, you can use the Rectangle Frame Tool.
- Create a rectangle in the space you would like to be able to touch to order. Bear in mind that the quantity will display in the middle of the area.
- While you have the rectangle selected, expand the Buttons and Forms panel
- Select "Button" from the Type drop down selector
- Change the Name Field to be Code:{product code} where {product code} is the actual Manufacturer Code in the system e.g. Code:IN5013
- Leave the Event as "On Release or Tap"
- There is no need to add Actions
- Appearance can be left as "Normal"
- In PDF Options, untick Printable
- When you have all the buttons configured in the document, select export from the file menu
- Ensure the type is selected to Adobe PDF (Interactive) (*.pdf)
- Ensure form elements are included
The file should now be fine to load into the Inzant system
