Configuring Google Analytics in the Inzant CMS

Configuring Google Analytics in the Inzant CMS

Step 1

First login to your google analytics account and setup a new property. Copy the google script provided and paste this into the “Analytics” section of the Inzant Website section, on the “Analytics” tab.

Step 2

As part of this process google will ask you to verify you own the website, please choose the “Head HTML” option. Google will provide a secondary script that you will need to paste into the “Head HTML” field on the Home page. Make sure to keep the Google analytics page open (as it has the "verify" process on this same page). To paste the head html into Inzant please complete the below steps;
  • Open the “Pages” section of the CMS.
  • Scroll down to the Home page row, if a preview version of the page exists you can edit this, otherwise click “Create Preview” in the “Published” column.

Step 3

On the “Preview” version of the page insert the “Head HTML” google has provided (it should be a text blob wrapped in "<script>" tags), then click the “Save and Publish” button in the top right of screen.

Step 4

You should see in your google analytics interface a prompt for google to “check / verify" the website, if you run this process it will then be able to verify the Head HTML exists as per its expectation and then google will start collecting analytics data for your website. All done!
